The 280 Brooklands was introduced in 1987 as the final production evolution of Ford's much-loved sports coupé and instantly recognised by its Brooklands Green paintwork and 15" RS alloy wheels

Based on the 2.8 Injection Special, they were powered by a Cologne V6 engine developing 160bhp with a 5-speed gearbox, limited-slip differential and powered rack and pinion steering

This example was indicating just 37,887 miles, at the time of cataloguing, and presents in lovely order throughout. It's a real time-capsule that's been off the road for over two decades

Recommissioned prior to being offered in the auction, the works have included attention to the brakes, a service, new rear exhaust sections, new ignition system, new tyres and finished off with a new MOT valid to September 2027

The Capri presents with a real honesty, the Brooklands Green paintwork is uniform across the bodywork, and the interior is beautifully preserved. Some careful detailing would lift this example to the next level, a superb project for someone with the right skill set

Other pleasing features include the Trio Stereo cassette with matching parcel-shelf speakers, a likely period dealer fitted upgrade. The windows are also security etched with the registration number, in fact many small details under carful inspection are well preserved

Offered with the original book pack and service book confirming it was supplied new by W. Harold Perry Ltd, Middlesex in March 1987, and its V5 showing just three previous owners.
