1934 Austin 7 Speedex Special

Jem Marsh is, of course, the man behind that great British sports car, the Marcos

But during the late 1950’s, Jem used to race an Austin Seven special while working as a sales rep for Firestone Tyres

During the first few months of 1958, Jem was employed by Robin Read as manager of his Dante Engineering Company

This lasted until 30th April, when Jem told Robin that he intended to leave and start his own Company, Speedex

216 XUC was first 01/ 01/ 1934, the V5 states first reg in the U. K. 01/ 02/ 2007. looks like its been abroad for a few years and was repatriated to the U. K.?

However, she still retains Historic Status and is both tax and MOT exempt

The upper body is aluminium with steel cycle-style mud guards

Speedex clearly stamped, and is all in nice, complete condition

She is also fitted with the Popular Morris hydraulic brake upgrade

She is a very pretty car and presents herself very well with a wonderful interior and polished alloy dash

216XUC has spent the last 6 years on display in a small East Yorkshire museum.

She is now in fully reconditioned and ready to go for some summer fun or a bit of vintage motorsport.
