1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 spider

Alfa 6C1750 spider with complete history from delivery in 1930 to first owner in Firenze till today to see on a copy Libretto/ license from 1930 , to see delivered as a spider ( not a cabrio but a spider)

In 1938 taken to Eritrea ( a colony from Italy by the italian owner

(like more italian people to escape the war) and raced in Asmara on the circuit there.

The original Libretto/ license booklet from Eritrea from 1940/ 1946 is with the spider.

After the war there was only gasoline in Italy and colony for good transporters , so in Asmara the rear side of the spider was changed and fitted with a cargo bed.

In the late 50'sthe Alfa was transported to UK by an english colonel stationed in Asmara

In england in the 70's the Alfa was sold after a long time in storage to a collector, the collector refurbished the rear side/ end to its current condition so his wife could race the spider at Donington and Silverstone ( see last foto)in the 80's and 90's

He did have more Alfa's and many parts in that time from prewar Alfa's , so the old engine was too bad for racing , he assembled the best engine and original compressor Memini he had in the 1750 spider ( he told me)

After the race period the Alfa was parked for a long time,

I could buy the spider and restored it and make the spider street legal with the original Bosch headlamps and fenders

Rolling chassis with all mechanics is original 1930 , only a new complete cilnderhead from Jim Stokes has been fitted , because the old one was totaly worn out.

Engine with compressor and open exhaust produced a great sound like an Alfa 8C and a lot of power

Gearbox, rear diffentieel all are complete. restored and original

A new buffelo leather bench is fitted ( the original seats are with the Alfa)

Dashboard, clock's, 4 spoke steering wheel ( with the name of Ferrari in the backside)are all original from 1930

The netire electrical harness has also renewed with original metarials and colours.

New tyres , restored spoked wheels , restored brake lining , all are new , restauration cost was round 200M euro!
