1963 Triumph TR4 with overdrive | solid project car

Original Arizona car. Matching-numbers Triumph TR4 with its original overdrive gearbox and the desirable early metal dashboard.

Very solid chassis and body. Rust is limited to the battery tray and the left outer sill. The car still retains much of its original white paint, showing heavy weathering and surface rust. The body has a few minor dents but provides an excellent basis for restoration.

The engine turns freely by hand but requires rebuilding due to a thrust washer issue. Inspection from underneath, with the sump removed, showed no signs of serious bearing damage.

The car is fitted with its original overdrive gearbox.

Included is a very good set of black TR4 seats with white piping. The windscreen is damaged and the front bumper is missing, as are the spare wheel, one hubcap and the boot lock.

Odometer reading: 39. 256 miles.

An excellent basis for a high-quality restoration. Original, largely untouched examples like this are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
