1963 TRIUMPH TR4 Overdrive

1963 Triumph TR4, for restoration. Original car from Arizona. Triumph TR4 with matching numbers, fitted with its original gearbox with overdrive, as well as the highly sought-after metal dashboard from the early models.

Very sound chassis and bodywork. Corrosion is limited to the battery tray and the lower section of the outer left sill. The car retains most of its original white paint, heavily aged by time, with a few spots of surface rust. The body has a few small dents, but it’s an excellent basis for a restoration.

The engine turns freely by hand, but it needs rebuilding due to an issue with the crankshaft thrust washers. After removing the sump and inspecting the lower part of the engine, no significant bearing wear was found. The car is fitted with a gearbox with overdrive.

Includes a very smart set of black TR4 seats with white piping. The windscreen is damaged and the front bumper is missing, as is the spare wheel, a wheel trim and the boot lock.

Speedometer reading 39, 256 miles.

An ideal base for a high-quality restoration. As original and as little-modified as this one, cars like this are becoming increasingly rare.
