Beschrijving

We are pleased to present this 1968 Ford Mustang Hardtop, equipped with the legendary 289 cubic inch V8 engine (4. 7 litres), paired with a three-speed automatic gearbox.

Imported from France to Switzerland in 2022, this Mustang has benefited from several mechanical overhauls and modifications designed in particular to enhance its driving experience.

It is presented today in an attractive combination of red bodywork, white vinyl roof and white interior.

The Marti Report, available in the vehicle's file, allows us to trace its factory configuration: Meadowlark Yellow paint, black vinyl roof and black interior.

Its current configuration therefore differs from the original, without detracting from the character and charm of this first-generation Mustang.

History and Work Carried Out

Previously registered in France with a classic car registration document, this Mustang was imported to Switzerland in 2022.

It underwent a technical inspection with the Vaud Canton Automobile Service in July 2022, and was then registered in the Valais Canton in June 2025.

Several mechanical overhauls have been carried out, notably:

Fuel tank replacement

Exhaust line replacement

Radiator and fan replacement with secondhand components

Installation of power steering with genuine Ford parts imported directly from the United States

Installation of front disc brakes

The vehicle has suffered a road accident in the past, which required repairs to the front end. These were carried out by a professional, with invoices to support this.

The vehicle's file includes notably the Marti Report and various documents relating to its history and the work carried out.

Condition and Use

This Mustang is presented in original condition, with signs of age and several cosmetic defects to take into consideration.

The main points noted are as follows:

Impact on the bonnet, with paint chipping

Paint blister at the bottom of the driver's door

Misalignment of the passenger door

Headlining partially detached

Radio missing

Non-original wheels showing signs of oxidation

Tyres requiring replacement

Mechanically, the engine starts correctly and presents a stable idle. The automatic gearbox functions normally.

The vehicle is currently not registered and does not benefit from Swiss veteran status.

It constitutes an excellent basis for an enthusiast wishing to enjoy a first-generation Mustang, whilst progressively carrying out the necessary cosmetic work.

Advisor's Note

For purists seeking original specification, this Mustang may not be for you!

This is a Mustang that has lived and is now seeking an enthusiast ready to care for it. Over time and according to their budget, the person who adopts it will be able to improve it progressively to make it a car to their taste. With its 289 V8, automatic gearbox, power steering and above all the distinctive sound of American cars from this era, it already has plenty of appeal.

A Mustang to be appreciated for what it is, not for what it once was!

The car is available to view by appointment in Switzerland, Yverdon region.
