Exterior / Body:

This example is a JAGUAR Mark II 3. 8L Overdrive from December 1963 in its original Black colour.

The body has had a full repaint about ten years ago and today shows excellent gloss and a generally sound condition.

After a professional polish with orbital machine by our workshop, a few minor scratches, paint chipping, cracks or light creasing were noted across the body.

The right front wing shows some defects under old paint.

The chrome bumpers are well positioned and in good condition despite light oxidation and a few scratches.

This car is fitted with LUCAS fog lights, both fully functional

The front left fog light has a slight crack.

All chrome trim is complete, lightly oxidised but original in good condition.

The 4 chrome wire wheels in 15” are in good condition with slight oxidation.

The chrome JAGUAR knock-offs are in acceptable original condition.

The tyres show 10% wear at the front and 30% at the rear.

This example has its spare wheel (painted wire wheel) and its mallet and jack.

Among the interesting exterior options/ equipment, we noted: 15” chrome wire wheels, rear wheel spats and LUCAS fog lights.

Interior:

The interior is in good original condition.

Leather upholstery in Black with matching piping is in good condition and shows a uniform patina.

The rear “Picnic tables” are in excellent condition.

Door panels matching the upholstery were replaced in 2021 and are in as-new condition. (invoice: €447)

Walnut trim on the door tops is in excellent condition, with no cracks or breaks.

The dashboard and its walnut veneer dash cap have been recently restored and are in excellent condition.

All original SMITHS instruments and the LUCAS ammeter are fully functional.

The period radio is no longer functional but has been kept for aesthetics.

The original JAGUAR steering wheel and gear knob are in good condition.

The headlining in Grey is taut and in good original condition.

Some notable interior fittings include the newly restored woodwork and door panels.

Chassis:

On the ramp, the body shows a healthy shell with no obvious structural corrosion.

The basics: floor panels, sills, lower body and wheel arches are in good condition.

Operational reserve: we cannot guarantee perfect alignment beyond their good visual and functional state verified on road test and on the ramp.

During the dynamic test, we noted no abnormal rattles from the body or suspension components (ball joints, bushings...).

Braking is balanced, with no vibrations or unusual noises.

Front and rear discs show less than 50% wear.

Front and rear brake pads show less than 10% wear.

A pre-delivery technical inspection by our workshop will confirm overall functioning.

Engine / Transmission:

The mechanics operate perfectly.

The engine was removed and fully rebuilt in 1989. A refresh was also carried out in 2018 with replacement of engine timing cover and hoses and master brake cylinder (total invoices: €1, 758).

Compression checks and a road test by our workshop confirm a healthy block.

The six-cylinder starts promptly and idles steadily, as shown in the 360° video with the engine running, available at the start of the slideshow.

When warm, the engine reaches its revs normally.

The manual gearbox engages all four gears smoothly with no sticking in the synchros.

Clutch grip is good. It was replaced in 2018 at 79, 000 km (invoice: €2, 920).

The overdrive for the final ratio works perfectly.

As is common with these models, the engine/ transmission/ axle seals are average.

Other similar vehicles are also available. 50 photos + engine running video on CLASSIC-A
