This magnificent 1965 FORD MUSTANG GT code A is very well equipped: V8 engine, 225 bhp, 4-barrel carburettor, C4 automatic gearbox, Pony interior, power steering, disc brakes, GT equipment, twin exhaust lines with trumpet-style tips, Steel Wheels, electric hood (cabriolet top), auto radio, air conditioning, Honey Gold paint, GT wood steering wheel, anti-fog lights at the front, central console, seat belts, luxury trim, courtesy lights, 2 exterior mirrors,

The list of iconic Mustangs from the 1960s is long and prestigious—the first-generation A-codes in Cabriolet form are among the most sought-after on today’s classic car market.

This Mustang has all the hallmarks of a quality restoration: flawless finish, rolling gear rebuilt to a high standard, immaculate engine bay with a fully rebuilt engine, a new interior, new chrome, glass in perfect condition, and an extremely solid chassis following a total restoration..

MECHANICS

The car shows 14, 000 miles on the odometer. The mechanicals were given a complete restoration in 2024: engine, gearbox, running gear and braking—everything carried out with care and quality. The exhausts have been reconditioned/ rebuilt, the dampers are recent, as is the radiator.

The car is fitted with electronic ignition and a cut-off switch.

The white-etched (white-letter/ white-rim stripe) tyres are new as well, with a complete geometry setup for the suspension.

The alternator and voltage regulator have been replaced, along with a complete refurbishment of the charging harness.

The suspension has received new bearings as well as new steering ball joints.

Gearbox and differential oil changes have been carried out.

The engine compression has been checked and is perfect. The engine is in excellent condition.

INTERIOR

Restored with care, the upholstery is new and in excellent condition, in its PONY configuration with new carpets, GT-finish door trims, and the hood (roof) is new. The central console is in perfect condition, as is the dashboard with LUXURY trim, and the air-con control panel is in excellent condition—no damage and no corrosion.

The WOOD steering wheel is new, and seeing this whole setup from the driver’s seat gives a genuinely new-car feel—very pleasing and, I’ll be honest, quite rare in this Gold configuration with the Honey Gold exterior colour’s beautiful reflection.

Tinted windows are in perfect condition.

BODYWORK

The car has been stripped down and received a complete replacement of the underbody sections; the chassis has been rebuilt to a new standard, rear longitudinals replaced, floors replaced as well—no signs of corrosion, and the underside is new.

The paint is new (dated 2025), and the car presents extremely well. The doors sit perfectly, and so do the door openings.

On the road, the car is super pleasant to drive: the steering doesn’t wander, the engine note is smooth and relaxed to the ear, the comfort is right up there with recent seats, and all controls and instrumentation are fully operational. No suspicious smoke or exhaust odours in the cabin—this Mustang is ready to welcome the whole family, with seat belts for the rear passengers.
