*** Very Rare Opportunity!*** I am very reluctantly selling my Triumph TR4. The car was restored in the late 90s/ early 2000s. It is a very early model and was one of the first ten thousand built. It has all its UK registration documents and is currently on a SORN. After restoration, it was only driven on a few short journeys and then parked up in a garage, under a cover, where it has sat ever since. Consequently, it is a RUST FREE car.

When new, the car was exported to Texas, USA, and it spent about 30 years there in the dry climate. It was bought back to the UK – I believe in the 90s - by Paddock Motors in Derbyshire, from where I bought it. The last owner in the USA painted it JCB Yellow, so it wasn’t pretty!

During the restoration, the car was stripped to the bare chassis and rebuilt from the ground up. New floors and sills were fitted, along with a new rear valance and battery tray. All other bodywork is factory original. It was painted with cellulose Triumph Signal Red.

Engine was rebuilt and is in standard configuration apart from a slightly uprated camshaft. It is currently fitted with a 43D performance distributor, but I can swap that for the original 25D disi if preferred. It was running when parked up, but hasn’t run since 2005. Battery is dead. Gearbox and axle were inspected and found to be in excellent condition so were cleaned out and filled with fresh oil and gaskets/ seals. It is fitted with a large bore stainless steel sports exhaust which sounds amazing!

The car was converted to right-hand drive using genuine RHD TR4 parts, including a Stanpart metal dashboard, accelerator pedal, steering rack etc…

New carpet and trim was fitted throughout. It currently has a pair of racing bucket seats inside but they are not fitted. There is a choice of seats – you can EITHER have the bucket seats, OR it can come with two genuine early TR4 metal seats. Your choice. The latter are just the bare steel frames and will need foams, covers and runners, but are the correct style for the year of car. Both seats have tipping backs. I believe they are quite rare now.

The red racing harnesses have been removed and are NOT included. Also, the roll-over bar shown in the pictures is no longer fitted and is NOT included in the sale.

This car could be viewed as the ultimate TR4 restoration project. There is NO rust. All the hard to find parts are there. You will not need to buy many new parts. That said, it hasn’t moved for nearly 30 years so it will need a FULL rebuild. It has a British Motor Heritage Certificate.

The buyer will NEED to bring a trailer with a winch to collect it.
