1962 Triumph TR4 — Fast Road Specification

A very appealing 1962 Triumph TR4, presented in Powder Blue with contrasting black trim and upgraded to an engaging fast-road specification and fitted with overdrive!

During the early 2000s, the car was the subject of a comprehensive programme of improvements costing in excess of £22, 000, with the emphasis very much on enhancing the driving experience while retaining the character of the original TR4. The handling has been significantly improved through the fitment of a handling kit incorporating polyurethane bushes, an upgraded anti-roll bar and uprated shock absorbers. Further mechanical upgrades include a tubular extractor exhaust manifold and accompanying exhaust system, together with an alternator conversion.

Inside, the car has been fitted with supportive leather MX5-style seats, complemented by rally harnesses and a roll bar. The result is a TR4 that feels considerably more purposeful behind the wheel, with the upgrades combining to give the car a particularly enjoyable and confidence-inspiring driving experience.

The bodywork is not without areas that could be improved, and further cosmetic attention would undoubtedly take the car to the next level. Importantly, however, this is a very sound and solid example, providing an excellent basis for either continued use and enjoyment or further cosmetic enhancement over time.
