1968 Ford Escort Mark 1 (1967) Saloon

This rare 2 door Mk1 Escort Super has been fully restored and finished in Ermine White, combining classic Escort character with a carefully considered set of mechanical upgrades. At its heart is a 2. 0 litre Duratec engine, reimagined in Broadspeed style and breathing through twin 48 carburettors, supported by an engine management system and a hand made Simpsons race exhaust. The Type 49 shell is complemented by Mexico wings and Lotus steel wheels, while the chassis has been significantly upgraded with Gaz adjustable inserts, Capri front legs and RS2000 rear leaf springs. Braking performance has also been improved with fully reconditioned brakes and vented discs, while a Quaife Tran-X limited-slip differential helps put the power down with greater control. The result is a beautifully restored Mk1 with serious mechanical appeal lightweight, responsive and full of character, whether it’s being enjoyed on the road, taken to a track day or simply shown off at a classic car event.
