AUSTIN HEALEY SPRITE MK1 "FROG EYE" 1958

I brought this "Frog Eye" back from England in 2004. My wife absolutely loved this car and had wanted one for a long time. I chose this particular model because the previous owner had carried out some interesting modifications: engine, gearbox and rear axle from a Midget 1300, and most importantly, front disc brakes. This makes the car somewhat more performance-oriented than the original 948cc and crucially safer in terms of braking. Subsequently, I carried out further work on the car with an "Anglo Parts" kit of telescopic dampers at the front, complete interior refurbishment, gearbox pinion replacement, radiator overhaul, etc.

Throughout all these years, maintenance has been carried out very regularly.

The car is also equipped with wire wheels, but I also have the original steel rims with their hub caps, rare parts, which will be included in the sale.

The hood is in perfect condition as are the removable side windows.

There is also a tonneau cover in good condition and a bespoke jersey storage cover.

Everything works perfectly and a full service with fluid changes is currently underway. (invoice)

I also have numerous invoices from the previous owner and my own.

Amongst the historical documentation, I have the original order form signed by Donald Healey as well as the British Motor Heritage Trust certificate no. 98/ 9815.

It is due to my wife's health that I am reluctantly parting with this car, which we will have kept for 22 years.
