1957 Citroen 2CV 4

A very rare 2cv indeed - this is the PO version which was made for use where unmade roads could be met, so the chassis was reinforced, the engine gained a sump guard and an oil bath air cleaner, and the front bumper was a tubular type so that the car could easily be lifted out of deep holes!

Fortunately, this car never saw any of those rough conditions, with the result that the original floors and chassis are amazing - absolutely solid with no rot anywhere! Incredible! Just to prove that, I took it for an MOT test (which of course, as a classic car it does not need) and it flew through with no advisories at all!

The car had beautifully hand painted French number plates when imported, so I obtained magnetic covers for these which I have had hand painted with the new UK number plate.

In case the car was not special enough, it was also fitted from new with a rear hatch conversion which is very rare, if not unique. All tools, jack etc are present and the car was fully serviced with new brakes etc on arrival in the UK. The car also has an unusual steering lock fitted of a type that I have never seen before.

A lovely and very rare version of a car which is itself very rare these days - especially with all original paint, seats etc. Really lovely!

Dry stored for many years in France, this lovely car has covered just 50, 000 km, about 31, 000 miles from new!
