Rare 1950 Land Rover 80" Series 1 – LHD "Behind Grille" model for sale.

An exceptional opportunity for collectors and restorers alike: an original Left-Hand Drive (LHD) Series 1, built in January 1950. Featuring the highly sought-after early light behind grille" (full grille) configuration, this early 80" has been safely barn-stored for over 25 years, making it the ideal candidate for a complete restoration or a character-rich patina build.

Key Features are:

• Driveline: Fitted with a smooth-running 2286cc Series 2 petrol engine mated to the correct freewheel gearbox. Starts and drives but no brakes (brakes require attention/ rebuild).

• Chassis: Exceptionally solid chassis featuring an authentic Swiss agricultural conversion (shortened rear tub and modified rear crossmember to meet period farming classifications). Can be kept as a unique piece of history or easily converted back to original specification with a replacement rear crossmember. Apart from this the chassis is very solid and unwelded

• Bulkhead: Very solid bulkhead requiring only minor welding in some of the usual places.

• Body: The bodywork is in a good usable, honest condition. If you want to convert to original the backbody needs replacing. Now equipped with a rear mountable which driven by PTO.

• Original Details: Highly complete interior retaining rare original features, including the full dashboard assembly and horn/ dip switch.
