1953 MG T-Type TD

This 1953 MG TD was purchased in Oregon, USA. Originally finished in green with matching trim, it was later repainted dark blue and turquoise.

At some point the car was fitted with a Volvo drivetrain, consisting of a B18 engine, standard non-overdrive gearbox and Volvo rear axle with wider wheels. The front suspension has disc brakes with Lockheed calipers.

The Volvo engine is seized and will need rebuilding or replacement. Two MGA gearboxes and a rear axle for overhaul are included for those wishing to convert the car back to an MG drivetrain.

The chassis has surface corrosion but remains sound and restorable. The wooden body frame also appears solid and no through corrosion has been found on the panels.

The original bonnet was lost during transport. A replacement bonnet is included, but is missing its handles and mounting hardware. The running boards, bumpers and soft-top frame are also missing.

The dashboard retains its original instruments. Odometer reading: 95. 144 miles.

A solid basis for a full restoration or MG-based special.
