1931 Bugatti Type 40

Es gab nur insgesamt 35 Exemplare vom Typ 40A und davon wiederum nur ein paar mit dieser hübschen Karosserie von Henri Chapron. Der Motor des nur 1930 und 1931 gebauten Typ 40A entsprach dem halben Bugatti Typ 49 : fünfach gelagerte Kurbelwelle, obenliegende Nockenwelle, zwei Einlaß- und ein Auslaßventil pro Zylinder, Batteriezündung ( Doppelzündung ).

Dieses Fahrzeug wurde in den letzten Jahren in Deutschland aufwändig technisch restauriert und ist kaum eingefahren. Motor und alle Anbauteile, Getriebe, Lenkung, Fahrgestell etc wurden gründlich restauriert. Die Arbeiten sind belegt und teilweise fotodokumentiert. Im Zuge dieser techn. Restaurierung hat der Bugatti einen neuen Zylinderblock bekommen und für die bessere Fahrbahrkeit ein etwas moderneres Getriebe. Der Originalblock und das originale Getriebe sind noch da und werden mitgeliefert.

Der Aufbau - der vom berühmten Karossiebauer Henri Chapron stammt (belegt), ist noch ganz original und auch die Innenausstattung ist noch weitestgehend original. Der Wagen ist zugelassen und sofort einsatzbereit.

Only 35 Type 40A were built and from that only a handful with that beautiful body from Henri Chapron. The engine of the Type 40A - that was only built in 1930 and 1931 - was the exact half of the Bugatti Type 49 : five bearings crankshaft, overhead camshaft, two Inlet- and one Outlet Valve each Cylinder, Batteryinginition with 2 sparks for each Cylinder.

This Bugatti received a complete technical restoration within the last years. Engine and all components, Gearbox, Steeringsystem, Chassis ect. were thoughroughly restored or replaced. All work is documented and lots of pictures and restoration describtions come with the car. This Bugatti also received a new cylinderblock and - for better handling - a more modern gearbox. But - the original block and gearbox are still there and come with the car.

The body - which was done by the famous Henri Chapron - is still original and also the interior is mostly original. Very charming patina. The car is road registred and ready to go.
