1937 Railton Cobham

A very nice, pretty and rare Railton Straight 8 saloon which I have owned for the past 8 years. The car presents very well having been shown regularly and run at Kop Hillclimb during my ownership. Much work has been done over the years to make a very usable fast ( 1937 standard) luxury car. All brakes have been overhauled during my ownership with a modern lining material so that the car stops as well as it goes. The clutch has been replaced recently, it now has a dry clutch system rather than the standard wet one it had when new. The interior is lovely but the woodwork veneer shows some signs of lifting in places. Paintwork is very nice but will need a little attention to the front wings eventually. There is no visible corrosion anywhere and the car is a pleasure to drive, keeping up with modern traffic.

I have always wanted a Railton since seeing one in a breakers yard when aged 16. I am now 73, so it took me some time. I have loved this car for the 8 years of my custodianship and have enjoyed working on it, being a qualified Engineer by trade. Now it is time to pass it along to someone to use a little more than I am able to.
