1935 MG PA 1935 P-type - sought after pre-war MMM car.

Complete and original matching numbers car.

This MG, PA 2007, is a non-running project that has been off the road for over 60 years in dry storage however the chassis and bodywork are exceptionally sound and original. Excellent basis for a full restoration or fix the engine and use and enjoy the originality and patina. Gearbox and drive train turns freely. Full matching numbers car including gearbox, bonnet and alternator. Original cable brakes operate correctly and fly off handbrake holds the car.

Pre-war PA recently imported from New Zealand. NOVA letter showing that all UK import taxes paid supplied with the car to facilitate obtaining a UK registration. Not yet registered in UK, still on New Zealand number plates. Original UK car that was built in 1935, that is when the guarantee plate was issued according to the factory build record. Sold new by Attwoods Garage, Stafford to a Mr. Gibson Whittles of Walcot Hall, Wellington Shropshire on 4th March 1936, before being exported to New Zealand in 1938. I have the old New Zealand registration papers showing the continuous ownership from 1938 to 1965 when the MG was taken off the road.

Chassis number 2007, registered on the MG Car Club MMM register, Register No. 3625. Factory Record and build history supplied. Original factory colour is black with red interior. Matching numbers car, engine is the original factory replacement replaced in first 3 years, original gearbox and original bonnet with matching number chassis number stamped on piano hinge.

Remarkable survivor car with great patina. Coming from a warmer climate the body work is highly original and rust free other than some minor surface rust, not like the usual bodywork of UK cars that has to be patched and repaired. Car has been in dry storage since 1960's because the engine required a rebuild, which has contributed to the cars original and sound condition, including correct and original 1" SU carburettors. Original matching side screens and crank handle included. Spare clutch plate.

I also have a separate MG P-Type engine for sale by separate negotiation that has already had some machine work done including being skimmed head, re-bored block, what look like new old stock oversize pistons (58. 43mm compared to standard 57mm), new white metal big end bearings that been machined and good condition crank and what look like new white metal bearings. I have owned this car for 20 years and my plan was to undertake a light restoration to retain the original patina and use her like that, however a change of circumstances and too many other projects now forces reluctant sale.

£11, 250 as is or willing to consider a lower offer for the car without the engine and gearbox that are currently in the car.

Viewing welcome by appointment in Chester, Cheshire. More photographs available on request.

Original and genuine pre war MMM MG P-Type two seater sports car project with extensive history and matching numbers.
