Ferrari Classiche “Red Book” Certified — Supplied New to Belgium
The Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 stands as one of the most important grand tourers of the early 1960s — the model that introduced Ferrari to a wider audience and established the brand’s long running tradition of refined, high performance 2+2s.
This beautifully presented 1963 example is finished in the elegant and period correct combination of Grigio Argento over Rosso, and benefits from full Ferrari Classiche “Red Book” certification, confirming the authenticity of its major components and its adherence to factory specification.
Delivered new to Belgium on 15 June 1963, this car retains its original left hand drive configuration and has covered 41,750 km from new. It remains in exceptional condition throughout, described as “The Best of the Best”, and is currently displayed at the JD Iconic Showroom in Belgium. Its long term Belgian provenance, matching numbers mechanical components, and Classiche certification place it firmly among the most desirable examples of the model.
The 250 GTE was Ferrari’s first large production 2+2, combining the legendary 3.0 litre Colombo V12 with elegant Pininfarina styling and genuine long distance capability. Period road tests praised its effortless high speed cruising, balanced handling, and refined driving position — qualities that made it a favourite among Ferrari’s clientele of the era.
With only 957 examples produced across all series, surviving cars with strong provenance and correct specification are increasingly sought after.
This particular example presents beautifully in its original colours, with a well preserved Rosso interior and excellent exterior finish. The Ferrari Classiche certification confirms the originality of the chassis, engine, gearbox, differential, and body configuration, providing complete peace of mind for collectors seeking authenticity and correctness.
A rare opportunity to acquire a highly original, Classiche certified Ferrari 250 GTE with desirable colours, matching numbers provenance, and a continuous Belgian history. A superb representative of Ferrari’s early V12 GT lineage and a standout example of one of the marque’s most elegant grand tourers.
