Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to offer this incredible 1995 Nissan 180SX Type X, a purpose-built street and show machine that blends iconic Japanese styling with modern performance engineering.
Finished in a striking custom red paint scheme and sitting aggressively over custom Blitz wheels, this 180SX commands attention from every angle while delivering performance typically reserved for race cars.
Under the hood is a meticulously assembled, fresh-built SR20DET engine designed for serious power and reliability. It features CP forged pistons with a 9.5:1 compression ratio, Brian Crower connecting rods, BC Stage 2 264/264 camshafts, titanium valve springs, ARP head studs, and upgraded rod bearings. Supporting modifications include an S15 oil pump and water pump, Greddy 5-quart oil pan, ATI Super Damper harmonic balancer, Audi R8 coil conversion, and a custom powder-coated valve cover.
Forced induction is provided by a Pulsar G30-660 turbocharger with a stainless .81 A/R turbine housing and T51R modification, mounted to a custom DynasTay Performance turbo manifold and downpipe. Exhaust gases exit through a Blitz Realize-TT exhaust system, with boost managed by a TiAL 44mm external wastegate. The engine is controlled by a Haltech Elite 1500 ECU with a custom wiring harness and flex-fuel tuning capability, producing 615 wheel horsepower on E85.
Cooling and reliability were priorities in the build. A large Blitz front-mount intercooler, Mishimoto aluminum radiator, and GKTech electric fan setup help maintain optimal temperatures during spirited driving.
The suspension and chassis are highly capable, featuring Blitz ZZR coilovers, D-Max adjustable suspension arms, Megan Racing tension rods, and a GKTech chassis brace. An aluminum skid plate offers added protection. Braking has been upgraded with R32 GTS-T brakes, R32 five-lug hubs, ROFU cross-drilled and slotted rotors, and ROFU Max Street Friction brake pads. The factory-style handbrake remains functional through GKTech conversion cables and lines, and a viscous limited-slip differential helps transfer power to the pavement.
Inside, the cabin has been transformed with an S15 dashboard conversion, custom HVAC ducting, and retains functional air conditioning. Driver upgrades include custom Bride door cards, matching floor mats, a hatch cover, and a Cusco half cage. Monitoring is provided by a BTI 4.3 Multi-Integration digital display linked directly to the Haltech ECU, offering real-time engine data. Entertainment features a Pioneer touchscreen multimedia head unit with Kenwood speakers.
The exterior is completed with custom Blitz 01 wheels measuring 18x9 front and 18x10.75 rear, fitted to the widened bodywork for an aggressive stance. The vehicle has approximately 109,000 equivalent chassis miles, with very few original components remaining. This 180SX reflects years of careful planning, quality parts, and professional execution.
Whether you seek a high-horsepower street car, a standout show vehicle, or an expertly built JDM icon, this Nissan 180SX delivers on every level. Opportunities to own a build of this caliber are rare.
