1978 Chevrolet Corvette Silver Anniversary Edition

This 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Silver Anniversary Coupe commemorates the Corvette's 25th year of production and is a significant milestone in the model's history. The 1978 Corvette was selected to pace the Indianapolis 500, cementing its status as an American performance icon. Finished in the highly desirable Silver Anniversary color scheme, this example is powered by the sought-after L82 high-performance 350 V8 and features numerous comfort and convenience options.

The Silver Anniversary Edition was the most popular special-edition Corvette offered in 1978, with 15,283 units produced. This model year introduced the distinctive fastback rear window design, reminiscent of mid-year Corvettes, providing increased cargo space and a more dramatic profile. Removable glass T-tops and body-painted roof panels add versatility and classic Corvette styling.

Inside, the silver interior features cloth and vinyl seating surfaces for comfort and period-correct styling. Power windows, an AM/FM radio, and newly installed Vintage Air conditioning enhance driving comfort while maintaining the car's classic appeal. The redesigned 1978 dashboard offers updated instrumentation and improved ergonomics, making this one of the most user-friendly C3 Corvettes.

Under the hood is the desirable L82 350 cubic-inch V8, equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor and rated at 220 horsepower. Paired with an automatic transmission, this Corvette delivers strong performance and effortless cruising. Chrome wheels wrapped in Goodyear raised white letter tires complete the classic late-1970s performance look.

Whether you're a Corvette enthusiast, collector, or seeking a stylish American sports car, this Silver Anniversary Edition offers a unique opportunity to own a piece of Corvette history.
