1931 Ford Model A Coupe

The Ford Model A was introduced in 1927 as the successor to the Ford Model T. Produced in various body styles, the car was a massive success; millions were sold—a remarkable feat for the time. Among the many body styles and versions produced was this unique and rare coupé model. Manufactured in 1931, this Ford Model A Coupé was originally assembled in Denmark and subsequently delivered to Belgium. Consequently, it is one of the few models equipped with a kilometer-based speedometer rather than a mile-based one.

At some point in the past, the car was repainted in a two-tone red and brown scheme, but following a full restoration in the early 1990s, it was returned to its original black color. Since then, the car has been lovingly maintained. The most recent owner held onto this unique and stunning Ford Model A Coupé for over 26 years, keeping it in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically, thereby preserving this unique Model A Coupé—complete with a "rumble seat"—for the future.

The body panels align perfectly, and the doors close solidly and securely. The beautiful, large wire wheels are fitted with perfectly matched whitewall tires. The car retains its original stainless steel Ford headlights and is also fitted with optional "cow-lights." A stainless steel stone guard is mounted in front of the radiator, and the car even features the original speaking port in the rear window.

The interior is in impressive, stunning condition. During the restoration, the upholstery was completely renewed, and the seat was fitted with perfectly tailored beige leather. The dashboard is in excellent condition, and the instruments function properly. For extra ventilation, the windshield can be tilted open, and the side windows can also be opened. The various interior trim elements are in very good condition as well. This Ford Model A offers a comfortable, high seating position, and all controls are easy to operate. The rear seat is concealed beneath the trunk lid and is also in very good condition.

Under the hood lies the renowned 3. 3-liter L-head four-cylinder engine. This well-maintained engine was fitted by the previous owner with a newly modified valve cover incorporating an oil filter. The engine runs exceptionally smoothly, delivers approximately 40 hp, and is paired with a three-speed manual transmission—sufficient for enjoying comfortable historic tours in this unique Ford Model A. The clutch assembly, including the release bearing, was replaced very recently, and the old parts have been retained with the car. The vehicle shifts gears smoothly and is easy to drive.

This Ford Model A Coupé is unique in several respects: not only because it has become a very rare car today, but primarily due to the excellent condition—both mechanical and cosmetic—of this classic vehicle.
