This is an iconic 1955 Porsche 356 Pre-A Speedster, a California car that has remained under the same ownership for the past 30 years. It presents as an honest, original driver with a striking red exterior and a black interior.

The car retains a period-correct 1500 engine that is only a few numbers away from its original matching unit. It is accompanied by its factory Porsche Kardex, documenting its original specifications. The engine runs strong and sounds great.

Cosmetically, the car would benefit from minor attention, particularly improving the door fit. However, it remains an attractive and presentable example.

Many enthusiasts consider the Pre-A Speedster the purest-looking 356, featuring details such as a bent windshield, beehive tail lights, a simple dashboard, and elegant, uncluttered body lines. Its proportions are timeless. Few automobiles are as instantly recognizable or universally admired as the Porsche 356 Speedster.

Designed as a lightweight, pure sports car, it earned its reputation on American racetracks thanks to its well-balanced chassis and lively performance. Its timeless styling made it a favorite among Hollywood celebrities.

This California-owned Pre-A Speedster is a collectible and enduring automotive icon. It offers a wonderful opportunity to acquire an authentic driver’s example that is sure to delight its next owner.
