FAHRZEUGBESCHREIBUNG
Dieser Riley 9hp wurde ursprünglich als Vorführwagen der Riley Company eingesetzt und verfügt über eine außergewöhnliche Motorsporthistorie. Nach vorliegenden Unterlagen nahm das Fahrzeug 1939 an den 24 Stunden von Le Mans und der Rallye Monte Carlo teil. Die Aluminiumkarosserie ist in Schwarz und Creme ausgeführt und besitzt ein Schiebedach. Zur Technik gehören ein Motor mit Hochdruckkolben und zwei Vergasern sowie ein Wilson-Vorwahlgetriebe. Motor und Teile des Interieurs wurden überarbeitet. Die Historie ist unter anderem durch einen Bericht im Magazin Car Mechanics von 1962 sowie die Sotheby’s-Auktion von 1993 dokumentiert.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION
This Riley 9hp was originally used as a demonstration car by the Riley Company and has an exceptional motorsport history. According to the available documentation, it competed in the 1939 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monte Carlo Rally. Its aluminium body is finished in black and cream and features a sliding roof. The specification includes an engine with high-compression pistons and twin carburettors as well as a Wilson pre-selector gearbox. The engine and parts of the interior have been refurbished. Its history is documented by a 1962 feature in Car Mechanics magazine and the 1993 Sotheby’s auction.
