Beschrijving

This beautiful 1934 Bentley 3 1/ 2 Ltr Park ward Sports Saloon is ready for its next custodian.

With an exciting history reflecting its life and adventures going back to 1934 when first purchased and built for Sir C R Fairey of Fairey Aviation and Fairey Marine fame. This Bentley motor car was built with bespoke works to suit Sir Richard Fairey which included differently styled front sweeping wings, and a longer steering column to suit his taller stature.

It is understood that it then passed on to his chauffer and passed through hands in Yorkshire before heading to the United States for a period of time. During its stay in the U. S. it competed in the Great Race. A vintage race (awaiting more details) where it finished a credible 27th place.

Following its American adventures it returned to the UK via a specialist dealer and sold on to its current family, where it has spent 30 + years on trips around the UK and carried outs its duty for family and friends as wedding transport.

There will be lots of historical and personal Bentley memorabilia included in the sale including books, and a copy of painting commissioned by the current family depicting this car with Sir Richard Fairey, his driver and the iconic Fairey Swordfish flying a low level flyby.

The bodywork reflects that of a motor car very well looked after and used. Whilst not concours, it is very good and usable.

The interior seems original. Work with use but neither torn or tatty.

This is a wonderfully presented vintage motorcar with charming history and in lovely condition ready to continue its adventures for another century.

Maintained to a high standard by the current family (garage owners) throughout the 30 + years it has been with them including routine maintenance and servicing, a complete cylinder head rebuild and most recently a new exhaust manifold etc...

The car is available for private viewing by appointment only.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch.
