Produced from 1964 through 1966, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTC was a rare, short-lived open-top variant of the Giulia Sprint GT. The GTC was conceived in the early 1960s amid strong demand for the Giulia range, providing an exciting sneak peek of Alfa Romeo's next-generation Spider. Approximately 998 examples were produced during the GTC's brief three-year production run, making a roofless Giulia an exceptionally rare sight on any road.

Formally introduced to the press at Monza on 4 March 1965 alongside the Giulia Super, the GTC made its public debut at the Geneva International Motor Show later that month. Retaining the mechanical specification of the Sprint GT, the GTC was converted to cabriolet form by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, while preserving the 2+2 layout. Powered by the zesty 1.6-liter inline-four with dual carburetors, it was rated at 106 horsepower, capable of exceeding 180 km/h. Structural reinforcements were added to maintain rigidity, with ongoing refinements throughout production ensuring balanced handling and long-distance usability.

Delivered new in Bardi, Italy on 21 June 1966, this Alfa Romeo Giulia GTC is one of just 247 examples specified in left-hand drive for that year. According to its Certificato d'Origine, this stunning convertible Giulia GTC was originally finished in Rosso Alfa over Skai nero Fumo (black faux leather), which it remains presented in today through a careful restoration conducted c. 2012, with photos from the restoration on file.

The convertible Giulia was purchased in 2015 by the consignor, and is offered now following more than a decade of attentive ownership in the Netherlands.

This exceptionally rare 1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTC provides a unique opportunity to experience one of Italy's most beautiful grand tourers with the breeze in one's hair; adding an extra dose of la dolce vita to any motoring activity from leisurely countryside drives to spirited continental touring.
