For sale: a rare example of the 1929 Fiat 525 S

The Fiat 525 was designed as a high-end luxury saloon, aimed at an affluent clientele, a testament to Fiat’s commitment to quality and innovation at the end of the 1920s.

This model featured innovative specifications, such as hydraulic brakes (a rarity for the era), which significantly improved safety and driving control.

The Italian carmaker offered two options: the standard Fiat 525 and the sportier Fiat 525 S.

The S model, short for Sport, was equipped with a more powerful engine than the standard version, making it particularly appealing to performance enthusiasts.

Fitted with a 3. 7-litre straight-six engine capable of producing about 88 bhp, the Fiat 525 S could reach a speed of 107 km/ h, making it one of the fastest cars of its era. The gearbox was a four-speed manual.

This extraordinary blend of refinement and performance in the Fiat 525 S illustrated Fiat’s commitment to combining luxury with advanced engineering, consolidating its reputation as a forward-thinking manufacturer in the interwar years.

The example in question, manufactured in 1929 and registered in 1931, features an elegant beige coachwork with black wheelarches, paired with wool fabric interiors. The condition, both aesthetically and mechanically, is excellent.
