Beschrijving
NV (Nymans Verkstäder) was founded in 1873 by Anders Frederik Nyman in Uppsala, Sweden. In the early 1900s, they sold motorcycles from Clement, NSU, Indian and other brands. NV specialised in 'badge engineering' – that is, they bought motorcycles from another marque, affixed their badges, and sold them under NV. Conversely, they also sold two-wheelers and outboard motors under the name Cresent. The current two-wheelers were later taken over by Monark and the outboard motors were sold to Volvo in 1973, who still manufacture them in the old NV factories in Uppsala. In 1926, they released their own motorcycle with an Eiber engine purchased from Svensk motorindustri in Örkelljunga. In 1928, they released their own motorcycle again. It was designed by Göran Rödén, who came from FN (Belgium) and had contributed to the development of the M60 engine, a 350 cc OHV. This is why, at first glance, this engine is very similar to the FN M60 and M67. Initially, this engine (250 cc OHV) was in their old flat-bed tank model, but in 1929 they released a new model specially designed for the Six Days trials to promote the NV brand. It was the first model with a saddle tank and it had two quick-fill caps and an eight-day movement. Very few of this model were made and only one is known!!! And it’s now for sale here. This is an unfinished restoration. The engine has been completely and professionally overhauled.
