YES BODY HAND BUILT IN 1970, S to exact dimensions and period. this is not a project. ALUMINUM BODY AND DOORS ..

chassis and trim totally refurbished circa 1990, s all with invoicing and correspondence with builder and owner.

new radiator fitted 1990, s and still pristine. comes with a brass frog as mascot for radiator but we have it safe.

its nearly 100 yrs young. 1929. imagine. its mind blowing what this has seen.

ANDRE CITROEN was as astute as HENRY FORD and after a trip to states to observe

building methods he put it all into practice.

the british government.. slime is not new. its ongoing. decided a war was going to happen.. how did they know that one in 1929.. and they put a 40% tariff import duty on oversees goods. so ANDRE CITROEN-DODGE BROTHERS-CHRYSLER-FORD and several more players in motor vehicles decided to built cars in uk, saving 40% slime money to pay for war.

that import levy duty slime tax went on for something like 37 years.. until someone in the slime house noticed the UK where suffereing again.. so they lifted the duty levy, on the tuesday... and on the wednesday citroen pulled out of slough. and built the rhd variants back in france.

CITROEN finding manufacture in SLOUGH. proper talented people arrived and worked in slough. building CITROENS by the thousands. one cannot imagine the joy of owning this motor car brand new.

as many parts supplied by uk distribution chain the SLOUGH built torpedo has lucas electrics etc. normal old school british stuff.

this torpedo would have started out with the smaller 1200 cc engine. but fitted for many a lifetime with the bigger 1628cc side valve engine developing 30 bhp. remember the government slime tax was also on bhp in the day.

we think it looks prettier with the roof up. its your choice. and its a big motor car.. suitable for wedding-prom-days out-special occasions easy taking 4 passengers and limousine rear size for the big dress.

currently fitted with a straight through exhaust which matches the large exhaust downpipe.. in the day engines went from large downpipe to a tiny exhaust exit. we still have the original unit.. but drives far better modern size exhaust.

12 volt normal running

THE CITROEN LOGO IS BEVEL GEARS. andre citroen patented bevel gears before car manufacture.

3 speed opposite gearing .. 3rd is silent. proper silent gear. others are straight cut. throttle is in the middle. take an hour to get happy driving.

has a good turn of speed. 45-50 mph is normal. try doing that in anything british 97 yrs young.

nice set of matching tyres. spare tyre is pants. these are available off the shelf.

superb owners club and network of spares and help. but as this motor car was rebuilt twice since 1970, s and enjoyed since
