The French marque Citroën has been renowned for over a century for its forward-thinking engineering, bold designs and unrivalled comfort. Since its founding by André Citroën in 1919, the brand has produced an impressive line-up of iconic models that have left a lasting mark on the automotive world. In the 1980s, Citroën was looking for a modern successor to the successful GS and GSA. The result was the BX: a revolutionary mid-sizer that combined comfort, technology and a striking design. Penned by the famous Italian design house Bertone under the direction of Marcello Gandini, the BX was given its distinctive angular lines that made it instantly recognisable.
