1948 Dodge Custom - Sedan

The Dodge Custom is a model produced by the automobile manufacturer Chrysler under the Dodge brand, which replaced the Luxury Liner model in September 1940 together with the Deluxe. The Custom was the better equipped 1941 model. As the Dodge Series D22, this model was built from September 1941 until civilian production ceased in February 1942. In 1946, the Custom, now as the Series D24, together with its sister model Deluxe, was the first Dodge after the Second World War. The pre-war designs were essentially retained. Only the radiator grille was slightly modified and featured a chrome lattice pattern. This 1948 Dodge Custom Sedan was delivered in Geneva by Fratelli Ambrosoli & Cie. and first registered on 17 September 1949. In 1956, the saloon car changed hands to its second owner, who remained loyal to it until the end of the 1970s. Many years ago, the Dodge was taken over by the consignor and exhibited in his private museum. Occasionally, the car was driven with dealer plates – most recently about a year ago. The saloon is in remarkable, unrestored, original condition. The very nice interior suggests that the 90’327 km shown on the odometer correspond to the actual mileage. The engine runs well and the Fluid Drive clutch and 3-speed transmission are working correctly. Due to its long period of inactivity, the Dodge needs a new battery and a thorough recommissioning. This fantastic original vehicle will be handed over to a lover of American classics with its 1956 vehicle registration document and the last MOT dating from January 1979.
