The seller offers for sale this 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera, powered by a 3.2-litre air-cooled flat-six engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The car has been in the same ownership since April 2007, with the current custodian being the fourth owner from new. It was imported from Germany in 1995 and comes with the greater part of its documented history, including the original booklets with stamped service intervals. A valuation report is present. The odometer reads 273,474 km.

The car has been comprehensively restored, and the engine and gearbox have been rebuilt by a Porsche specialist. That restoration was completed in 2025, at which point the odometer stood at 273,282 km, meaning the car has covered only a modest distance since the work was finished. Finished in a classic period colour combination with a light-toned interior, it presents as a well-documented example of the definitive air-cooled 911.

The 911 Carrera 3.2 was introduced in 1984 as the successor to the 911 SC, and it is widely regarded as the high point of the original 911 lineage. Where the SC had built a reputation for durability, the Carrera 3.2 brought a genuine step forward: a larger 3.2-litre engine, Bosch Motronic engine management and a meaningful increase in both power and torque. Produced until 1989, it was the last of the classic long-hood-derived 911s before the 964 introduced a substantially modernised platform, and for many enthusiasts it remains the purest expression of what a 911 is meant to be.

Mechanically, the flat-six sits behind the rear axle in the traditional manner, air-cooled and unmistakable in both sound and character. Power is delivered through a manual gearbox, and from 1987 the model gained the much-praised G50 five-speed unit. The driving experience is direct and mechanical in a way that modern sports cars simply cannot replicate: unassisted steering that communicates every change in surface, a compact body that makes the car feel wieldy on narrow roads, and a chassis that rewards a driver who understands it. Visually, the shape needs no introduction, with the sloping front wings, upright headlights and rounded rear haunches that have defined the model since 1963.

Values for well-documented, honest Carrera 3.2 examples have steadily strengthened, and cars with continuous ownership history and specialist-performed mechanical work are increasingly sought after by collectors. This example combines long-term ownership, extensive documentation and recent major mechanical work, making it an appealing proposition for anyone looking for a usable air-cooled 911.
