The seller offers for sale this 1993 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.3 Limited Edition, powered by a 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine, paired with an automatic transmission. Finished in the model’s signature dark green over beige leather, the car shows 44,500 miles on its odometer and carries United States registration, having been delivered new to the American market. The cabin is trimmed extensively in burl walnut, from the dashboard and centre console to the door cappings, and the car is fitted with a power sliding sunroof, eight-hole alloy wheels and beige carpeting throughout.

Presentation-wise, the beige leather seats, door cards and rear map pockets all remain in place, and the car retains its original centre console with factory radio and climate controls set into the walnut trim. As one of the last examples of the long-running 190 E built before production ended, this car represents the final, most fully equipped expression of Mercedes-Benz’s original compact executive saloon.

Introduced in 1982, the W201-generation 190 was Mercedes-Benz’s first true compact executive saloon, quickly nicknamed the “Baby Benz” for bringing the marque’s engineering and safety technology, including its patented multi-link rear suspension, down to a smaller and more efficient package. Over a ten-year production run the model was offered with a wide range of four, five and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, culminating in 1993 with a special send-off for the outgoing model: two Limited Edition versions, the 190 E 2.3 and the 190 E 2.6, each built in a run of just 700 cars. The 2.3 Limited Edition took the comfort-oriented route, finished exclusively in Brilliant Emerald over beige leather with burl walnut trim, while its 2.6-litre Sportline counterpart focused on a sportier character.

On the road, the 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine and automatic transmission give this 190 E a relaxed, comfortable driving character, in keeping with the Limited Edition’s focus on equipment and refinement rather than outright performance. As one of only 700 examples built, and with its walnut trim, sunroof and beige leather all present, this car offers a well-documented and distinctive way into 190 E ownership at the very end of the model’s production.
