This 1901 Renault was an early import into the UK. Archive papers provided by Lincolnshire County Council show first ownership from 1903. It was assigned the number BE 29 denoting it was the 29th car registered within that county. It still bears this valuable plate to this day.

At some stage the car was put into storage until 1950 when it was purchased by a member of the Veteran Car Club. It was restored to working order and was dated 1901 by the VCC (Certificate 255).

The VCC Gazette published a photograph of the car at its first event in 1952. It has been enjoyed by several other owners over the years. BE 29 has successfully completed several London to Brighton runs including the 1996 100 Years Celebration of the Run.

Some £9500 was spent between 2013 and 2015 with a specialist company for works which included fitting a starter motor and refurbishing the gear box since when it has completed several more Brighton runs.

BE 29 has recently undergone a mild recommissioning by a leading expert in the field of veteran cars.

This is a reluctant sale. The car was bought with the intention of taking part in the London to Brighton run. As the owner cannot do this at the present time the car is being offered for sale to let someone have the opportunity to take part in one of the most iconic and historic motoring events.
