Beschrijving

A distinctive 1967 Bristol 409 Mk II, presented in red with a black leather interior and a sliding fabric sunroof. Registered XUR 888F, this Bristol combines understated styling with V8 power, a three-speed automatic gearbox and factory-fitted power steering.

The high-ratio rear axle suits relaxed touring, while the cabin retains the character of a largely original interior. The front seat squabs have been replaced, along with Wilton carpets and woodwork renewed by Bristol Cars. A traditional wood dashboard, period instruments and radio, and generous rear seating complete the cabin.

Previously supplied by SLJ Hackett in 2017, the car has benefited from an Edelbrock carburettor and air filter, together with a boot-mounted electric fuel pump fitted to address vapour-lock issues. New fuel pickups were installed and the fuel tank was removed and cleaned when the car was supplied in 2017.

The car is reported to be running well, with no oil or water consumption. The engine is believed to have been refurbished in the 2000s. Its history has featured in Bristol Owners Club Bulletins for summer 2021 and 2022, and in Club Newsletters dated June 2018, November 2020, May and November 2021, and January 2024.

An appealing Bristol for an enthusiast who values a characterful interior, useful touring specification and a record of considered improvements.
