Beschrijving

1963 Series 2a Land Rover.

Tax and MOT exempt.

So, it's a 1963 Series 2a Swb, truck cab. I have had the cab off for a couple of years as I just drive it in nice weather. Cab is still with it though.

I am its eighth owner, having bought it in 2022. It's petrol and on its original engine and chassis as far as I can tell.

I've tried to take as many photos to show as much of the Land Rover as possible.

It's not concours, just largely original. The previous owner hand painted it, and it does look OK. He painted over the cappings though. He also added a few extras like reversing light, interior light and washer button. The windscreen wipers look to be different types but they both work.

All the gauges work and it shows 87, 400 miles.

He did buy Exmoor Trim seats which are in good condition. I still have the originals which will come with the vehicle. It looks like the heater is disconnected inside. Plates have been welded in the footwells and there is some rust showing at the bottom of the bulkhead.

There is some cheque plating on the tailgate but the tub looks solid. I put a rubber mat in, which can come with the car.

I am selling as I am losing the garage I keep it in.

In my ownership it's not had much done, just a new head gasket, starter motor and fluid changes/ top up.

It starts easily even after being stood and runs well once warmed up. Gears all work as expected, including high and low range.

It's always been kept indoors.

I have used it regularly for fun days out and tip runs.

The number plate is transferrable and is valued at somewhere between £1500-£2000 on its own.

If I have missed anything please let me know or if you have any questions

I bought it four years ago after having had several Defenders. The last one was stolen so I bought a Freelander, and needed something to cure my Land Rover itch - hence the Series 2a.

It doesn't get as much use as I would like but it never fails to start and run when I do take it out.

We've had a lot of fun as a family in it, nice runs on sunny days, some gentle off-roading, and always fetching the Christmas tree with it.

I would describe it as honest. Definitely not show quality. Reliable and always puts a smile on your face.
