1965 Volkswagen Beach Buggy
LHD | 1641cc Twin Weber | Nut & Bolt Restoration
ASKING PRICE: £24, 000
A genuinely special 1965 Volkswagen Beach Buggy, built on a 1965 Volkswagen chassis and recorded as
such on the logbook. Left-hand drive, independent rear suspension and the subject of an extensive nut-and-bolt
restoration.
The buggy has been in the same family for around 30 years, having originally come from Sweden before being
imported into the UK. It spent approximately the last 15 years in dry storage and has now been fully serviced and
recommissioned, ready to be used and enjoyed again.
This is not a quick cosmetic refresh. The buggy has been extensively rebuilt from the ground up, with new or
refurbished components throughout and approximately £45, 000 invested at cost.
East Coast Buggies Body
As part of the restoration, the buggy received a brand-new fibreglass shell from East Coast Buggies, the
company that also produced buggy shells for The Grand Tour's famous Beach Buggy Boys Namibia special. It
gives the build a great bit of provenance and a high-quality foundation for the finished car.

with the KC Daylighters, powder-coated roll bar and classic buggy body, it has exactly the right old-school stance.
40 Years in the Family
Originally from Sweden, the buggy was subsequently imported into the UK and has remained within the same
family for approximately four decades. For roughly the last 15 years it has been kept in dry storage. Rather than
simply pulling it out and putting it up for sale, it has now been properly serviced and recommissioned so it can go
back to doing what it was built for.
A Reluctant Sale
After around 40 years in the family, this is genuinely a reluctant sale. We'd simply rather see it go to somebody
who's going to drive it, enjoy it and have some fun with it, rather than watch it disappear back into storage.
It's not supposed to spend its life under a cover. It's a beach buggy - it's supposed to make noise, turn heads and
put a massive grin on your face.
A rare opportunity to own an extensively restored 1965-chassis, left-hand-drive, IRS Volkswagen Beach Buggy
with a rebuilt 1641cc twin-Weber engine, East Coast Buggies body, long-term family history and a huge amount
invested in its restoration.
£24, 000 - Serious enquiries and viewings welcome.
