The professional seller offers for sale this 1976 BMW 633 CSi, powered by a 3.2-litre fuel-injected straight-six, paired with an automatic transmission. This early first-series example of the E24 6 Series was first registered on 25 November 1976 and was originally delivered through BMW France, as confirmed by the original BMW France identification plate. It is finished in silver metallic with a blue leather interior, a timeless combination that suits the clean lines of the shark-nose coupé perfectly. Equipment includes power steering, power windows, an electric left-hand mirror, rev counter, radio with antenna, headrests and the period cross-spoke alloy wheels. The original period tool kit is still present in the boot lid. The car is registered with historic vehicle status.

In August 2025 the car was assessed by an independent inspection company, on a lift and including a test drive. In that report, brakes, cooling system and steering were each rated grade 2, and the full appraisal report, including paint thickness measurements and a photo gallery, is available for review. The underbody has been professionally protected, and the seats are in good condition. The car has been fully repainted in the past. The seller describes the car openly: there are minor paint blemishes and some surface corrosion on the right rear quarter panel, in the engine bay and in the boot. The chrome trim is in fair condition and some rubber seals are partly brittle. The boot lining is partly damaged, and there are stains on the headliner, partly damaged sun visors and dashboard, and some signs of past water ingress. A light seep at the transmission is noted, the interior lights and air conditioning are not working, and the tyres date from 2017 and are due for replacement. Overall, this is a coherent and usable early E24 that offers an honest base for enthusiasts.

BMW launched the E24 6 Series in 1976 as the successor to the celebrated E9 coupés, and the 633 CSi was one of the very first models in the range. Designed under Paul Bracq, the E24 introduced the forward-leaning “shark nose” front, a low waistline and a large glasshouse with slender pillars, giving the car a light, elegant stance that defined BMW design into the 1980s. Positioned as BMW’s flagship grand tourer, the 6 Series combined luxury and performance in a way few rivals could match, and it went on to enjoy a production run of more than a decade.

The 633 CSi is powered by the M30 “big six”, one of BMW’s most respected engines, here with Bosch fuel injection producing around 200 hp. Smooth, torquey and durable, it gives the coupé effortless cruising ability, while the automatic gearbox makes it a relaxed companion for long journeys. Inside, the driver-oriented dashboard angled towards the driver became a BMW signature, and the four-seat layout makes the E24 a genuinely usable classic. Early first-series cars, with their slimmer bumpers and purer detailing, are increasingly appreciated by collectors as the most authentic expression of the original design.
