THE PORSCHE 911 S

The Porsche 911 S needs little introduction. Introduced in 1966 as the sporting flagship of the 911 range, the S combined the lightweight 2.0-litre flat-six with Bosch mechanical fuel injection and a number of technical developments that established its reputation as one of the finest sports cars of its era.

The early 2.0-litre S models remain particularly sought after for their purity, compact dimensions and highly responsive character.

THIS 911 S

This 1969 Porsche 911 S is offered from a private collection and combines a highly desirable factory specification with an interesting transatlantic history. A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms its original factory specification as code 6809 Tangerine with black leatherette interior, as well as its matching-numbers status.

Delivered new in Germany, the car was exported to the United States just two years later by a U.S. serviceman, believed to have been its original owner. It is understood to have remained in the United States for approximately 25 years before being repatriated to Europe around 2006.

Following its return to Europe, the 911 was first registered in Norway before moving to Belgium in 2012. It has remained with its current owner since, forming part of a private Porsche collection.

The interior retains much of its original character. The original seats have been replaced by Recaro-style sport seats, complemented by period-style harness seat belts, while the remainder of the cabin retains its characteristic early 911 appearance.

Mechanically, the car has been regularly maintained and serviced. Most recently, it received a comprehensive service including attention to the braking and electrical systems, new shock absorbers and a set of Porsche-approved Pirelli tyres fitted to its classic Fuchs alloy wheels.

The 2.0-litre flat-six with mechanical fuel injection is the defining feature of the early 911 S. Developing 170 hp, it is renowned for its high-revving character and exceptionally responsive nature. The manual gearbox complements the engine well and provides the direct driving experience for which these early S models are so highly regarded.

Finished in the highly desirable Tangerine factory colour and retaining its matching-numbers engine and originally specified black interior, this 911 S combines an attractive configuration with documented provenance and substantial supporting history.

The car is accompanied by its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and comprehensive history file.
