With the 996 generation, the Porsche 911 entered a new era at the end of the 1990s. For the first time, Porsche abandoned air cooling for the 911 and adopted a water-cooled flat-six engine. The visual changes were equally significant: smoother lines, a more modern interior and the distinctive headlights clearly set the 996 apart from its predecessors.

In the Carrera, a 3.4-litre flat-six producing 300 hp provided suitably spirited performance. Despite its fundamental technical transformation, the 911 remained faithful to its proven formula: six cylinders behind the rear axle, compact dimensions and plenty of performance.

Finished in classic silver with a black interior, it presents itself in a pleasantly understated colour combination. The car also comes with a matching hardtop, which visually transforms the open Porsche into something approaching a coupé.

Particularly noteworthy is its low mileage. The odometer – in this case, naturally, recording miles – shows just 33,738 miles, equivalent to approximately 54,000 kilometres.

The Porsche later made its way to Germany, where it was registered in Regensburg in 2011. This 996 therefore combines a classic Porsche colour scheme and low mileage with the everyday usability that has always made the 911 a sports car one could enjoy on rather more than just Sundays.
