1984 Mercedes-Benz 280 TE

At the end of January 1976, the new W 123 mid-range was introduced with the 200 to 280 E models and various diesel variants. These classic models are still the most successful Mercedes model series today, with almost 2.7 million units built. From April 1978, the so-called “T-Model”, the first estate built by Mercedes-Benz itself, rolled off the production line at the Bremen plant. The “T” stands for Transport and Touring. The T-Model was quickly recognised as particularly solid and perfect, with almost 200,000 units produced. The Mercedes-Benz 280 TE was the top model in the series, as the marvellous six-cylinder engine with twin camshafts brought luxury to the Mercedes-Benz mid-range.

The estate car is rock-solid and down-to-earth in its appearance. Only a few buyers were able to afford the model with the top-of-the-range engine.
