Body / Exterior:

The example presented here is a RENAULT 8 Gordini “1300” (type R1135) from July 1967 in its original colour “Bleu France 418” (matching colour).

The body has been fully restored a few years ago. On this occasion this example received a full new paint job, which remains in excellent presentation today.

We noted a paint flaw on the roof and two small dings on the front bonnet.

The side mouldings are in very good condition, with no impact marks or oxidation.

We noted a small dent on the front right wing moulding.

The chrome bumpers are also in very good condition, with no dents or buckling. We noted some discreet rubbing marks at the edges.

The PVC door bumpers show no deformation, cracks, or breaks.

The four 13” aluminium wheels are in excellent condition, with no dings, deformations, or oxidation. The four Nexen tyres are new.

This example comes with its aluminium spare wheel as well as its jack and wheel brace.

Among the notable exterior features and options on this car are the 4 x 13’’ aluminium GT wheels and the interior cover.

Interior:

The cabin retains its strict vintage configuration.

The black faux leather upholstery is in excellent condition. (Invoice available).

The dashboard and its cap are free of flaws, discoloration or deformation.

All instruments are fully functional except for the lighting.

The matching door panels to the upholstery are in perfect condition, with no flaws or sagging. Likewise the PVC floor mats in black.

The headlining is in excellent condition and fully taut.

The stitched, three-spoke QUILLERY steering wheel and the bakélite gear knob show wear.

This car is equipped with a battery cut-off and a fire extinguisher.

The PVC floor coverings are in excellent condition.

Notable interior equipment includes front three-point safety belts, the three-spoke sport steering wheel, and the battery cut-off.

Chassis:

Putting the car on the lift verifies a sound shell, with no signs of accident or structural corrosion.

Fundamentals: sills, floors, wheel arches, wheel wells and longitudinals are in very good condition.

Usage reserve: we cannot guarantee perfect alignment beyond what is visually and functionally validated during road test and lifting.

During the dynamic test we found no abnormal noises from the body or running gear (ball joints, bushings...).

Braking is aligned and its efficiency complies with the model’s standards.

Front and rear brake discs show 40% wear and the pads show less than 30% wear.

The technical inspection performed by our workshop prior to delivery will confirm proper operation of the whole system.

Engine / Transmission:

The 1255 Gordini engine runs perfectly.

Engine compression checks and the road test performed by our workshop confirm an engine in excellent health.

The four-cylinder starts at the first crank and idle is stable, as confirmed by the 360° video with the engine running, available at the start of the slideshow.

Oil pressure cold is 4 bar at 900 rpm.

Reliability is improved by the presence of an oil cooler.

On the move, the engine pulls smoothly without misfire or overheating.

The five-speed manual gearbox shifts up and down without issue, especially at the synchros.

This example has a 9/ 34 gear ratio which is shorter.

Clutch bite is good.

As is common with older mechanics, engine to gearbox sealing remains average.
