1964 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MkIII BJ8 Phase 2

I am selling my Austin Healey 3000 MkIII BJ8 Phase 2 from August 1964.

This is the most refined and sought-after version of the "Big Healeys" (2. 9L 6-cylinder engine with 150 bhp, original raised rear chassis, drop-down windows and burr walnut dashboard).

History and presentation:

- Colour: Blue - Ice Blue.

- Interior: Excellent condition, clean blue leather trim, Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel, original burr walnut dashboard.

- Exterior presentation: Repainted in the United States in the 1990s. The paintwork displays a lovely patina overall with some minor finishing imperfections, ideal for an enthusiast wishing to drive immediately without fear of damaging a concours finish.

Mechanics, Chassis & Recent Work (Garage invoice from March 2025):

Comprehensive maintenance and recent refresh programme (> 50 hours labour, full documentation available):

- Transmission & Gearbox: New clutch (disc, mechanism, release bearing), complete sealing of gearbox and overdrive (all gaskets and oil seals renewed), rear axle sealing and oil change, new gearbox mounts.

- Suspension & Chassis: Front suspension fully overhauled (all wishbone and anti-roll bar bushes renewed), new rear hubs and spindles. New driver's floor pan. Preventative anti-corrosion treatment applied under entire bodywork and wheel arches.

- Braking: New rear brakes (cylinders and linings), front calipers overhauled, complete DOT4 fluid bleed.

- Engine & Tuning: New engine gaskets and timing cover gaskets, new engine mounts, new spark plugs, 20W50 oil change.

- Interior: New sound and thermal insulation under carpets, electrical wiring cleaned up.

Equipment & Accessories included:

- Blue canvas hood and hood cover.

- Tonneau cover (zipped cockpit tonneau) in excellent condition.

- Spare wire wheel in boot, period-correct jack, hammer and grease gun.
