1960 Chevrolet Corvette C1

I imported this car myself from Miami, USA, in 2022 when I had the time and passion to build and restore cars.

At the moment I need a break from projects, so I'm testing the waters to see if there's any interest.

This is my dream car, so I'm genuinely undecided whether selling it is the right decision. I'm also considering sending it away for a full restoration instead.

The car is a driver, not a show car. The paintwork looks presentable from a distance, but underneath the shine it's poor. The interior also needs love, including some cables and parts for the internal air system.

Mechanically, the 327 engine requires a rebuild. It has a bottom-end knock under load. I removed the sump to investigate and found the bearings have started to show brass. I started the process to remove the engine and gearbox. For that reason, the car cannot be driven away.

I also believe the gear shifter is incorrect, as selecting gears feels awkward and engagement is quite jolty.

The tyres were new when the car was imported. All the electrics are working, and I even took it to a show before discovering the engine knock.

The chassis is solid with no rust. It has had welding repairs in places.

The car comes with the hardtop. There is no soft top included.

This is a genuine project, not a £100k turnkey car.

If I don't receive an offer that makes sense, I'll keep it and send it away for restoration one day.
