1963 Ford Cortina Mark 1

This is a very well built Mk1 Lotus Cortina Tribute

The previous owner built the car on an imported LHD shell which he converted to RHD and restored on a rotisserie. Any rust was cut out and new metal was let in prior to painting the complete shell. ( I have over 100 pictures of the restoration.

The engine was fullly rebuilt from an L Block (as used in the MK2 with later type better seals etc) +60 overbored, blueprinted, balanced 126 bhp piper fast road / semi race stainless stell stainless steel exhaust manifold and system.

Crossflow flywheel and clutch, new bearings, gaskets, water pump, carbs rebuilt and was set up an dynoed on a rolling road in June this year

3 Rail 200E gearbox, bnuilt into Mk1 casing by Gearlink in salisbury with clasic capri remote shift

The Rear axle is a Cortina casing with Lotus / GT tramp bars fitted, 3. 77 std diff, 9 inch rear drums and new linings and cylinders.

The list goes on I do have a full mechanical description with the paperwork from the build.

The interior was fully renewed from the well known Specialists Aldridge Trimming

New JBW 5 1/ 2 J wheels with Yokohama tyres

I have owned the car for over 3 years and did visit The Goodwood Revival in 2024 where the car drew a crowd and many many smiles and waves on the journey to Chichester

In my ownership it has lived in my fully insulated Garage with underfloor heating

Now for sale as I really don't use the car
