1966 Jaguar Mark X - Immaculate / Original -1 owner 44 years

Here we have my exceptional Mark 10 4. 2 in super original condition.

It has an unrepeatable history file that is as vast as the car itself!

Purchased new by Mr. Ronald Jens of Coventry who took advantage of his 17. 5% staff discount to acquire the car for £2100. 13s. 6d in March 1966 (original purchase invoice and warranty documentation in the file) - Mr. Jenns kept the car fastidiously maintained and on the road for 44 years right up until his death in 2010, with his widow passing the car into what I believe was a fairly significant private collection not long after.

Clearly a stickler for detail, Mr. Jens kept a meticulous log of every single penny he spent on the cars care also keeping every invoice and every scrap of paper associated with the car including all the original handbooks, workshop / service / parts manuals, sales brochures, heritage certificate, original leather swatches etc. It all adds up to many hundreds of documents making one of the most extraordinary history files I’ve ever seen and will take hours to comb through it all.

I purchased the car in 2019 from the private collection where I believe it hadn’t really moved since the original owner passing away

I was drawn to it by it's super originality, condition and provenance - I didn't want an overly restored car, I was after a car that looked "right" and could be used and enjoyed.

Under my custodianship have carefully recommissioned it, with a full overhaul of the braking system; new master cylinder / servo / new discs and calipers all round, engine service, replaced all the hoses, new tyres etc. I had the car gone right through by Winspeed near Guildford (renowned Jaguar experts) at great expense who also rebuilt the triple carbs, rebuilt the fuel pumps and attended to all the niggly bits and pieces to ensure a reliable comfortable Jaguar for me to use on high days and holidays with my young family.

It’s been a pleasure to own. The car is a lovely, reliable, rare and remarkably solid Mark 10, as nice underneath as it is on top.

Turning 60 years old this year, it’s been impeccably maintained throughout its life, and is an original survivor that in my mind is really quite unique and I believe unrepeatable.

Now for sale due to lack of space really and time to use the car in the way it deserves.
