1964 Ford Thunderbird 390

Roadmovie feeling à la Thelma & Louise! In 1964, the fourth generation of the Ford Thunderbird, known as the "Flair Bird", arrived on the scene, following the model's debut in 1955. With each generational change, the model evolved from a sporty two-seater into what became known as a Personal Luxury Car. We're talking about lavishly powered and fully equipped coupés or cabriolets from the upper class. There was therefore little left of the original Corvette rival from the 50s. Instead, the focus shifted to driving comfort and ample cockpit space, without sacrificing sufficient grunt. Following the mantra: relaxed cruising rather than spirited cornering. The fully retractable soft top lends the car an additional seamless elegance and completes the straightforward design.

According to the previous owner, this 1964 T-Bird comes from 40 years of family ownership and has been subject to comprehensive overhaul and restoration work. Numerous receipts are available, including documentation for the complete overhaul of the 390 cubic inch V8. The bodywork and undercarriage have also been completely refurbished. It's evident that considerable love, time and money have been invested here. The Ford has been repainted in the original stunning Arcadian Blue, with the bumpers newly chromed. Mechanically and visually, the car cuts a very fine figure. However, there are still some details to be finished. For example, the window regulator switch in the centre console is missing and the fuel gauge doesn't work. The driving, steering and braking characteristics are, however, faultless.
