1961 Triumph TR3 TR3A (1957-62)

Here is a faithful reproduction of Johnny Hallyday’s 1961 Triumph TR3A (15LJ 75), one of the most iconic British roadsters of the 1960s. It shows 40, 171 km on the clock, finished in Old English White, with a blue leather interior piped in white, as well as its carpets; the whole car is presented in exceptional condition.

This vehicle is in a very beautiful overall condition, both aesthetically and mechanically. The bodywork is beautifully enhanced by a careful presentation, with dazzling chrome and a timeless line that draws everyone’s attention.

The cabin features a full dashboard in line with the original specification, with functional Jaeger instrumentation, offering all the authentic charm of driving a British classic. The mechanicals run perfectly; it delivers a lively, genuine driving feel.

The history of our example goes back to 1988, when it was purchased by its previous owner, who kept it until 2016. Its last owner, one of Johnny Hallyday’s close friends, wanted to create an exact replica of the TR3A the singer received as a gift for his 18th birthday—and the result is exceptional.

Between 2016–2017, this roadster received a major mechanical overhaul (around €4, 000 – invoices available). It was in 2022–2024 that this TR3A underwent a complete restoration—paint, bodywork, and upholstery at the Artole workshops (€25, 000). Long-range headlamps were added into the grille, giving it a rather likeable, distinctive look.

The Triumph TR3A embodies the golden age of British roadsters; a real hit when it was released, something that still holds true today. The road test confirms a healthy 4-cylinder and strong, confidence-inspiring behaviour.
