1968 Toyota Crown MS55

For sale is my Toyota Crown MS55, a rare and increasingly difficult-to-find Japanese classic.

The car retains a very high level of originality, including its distinctive right-hand-drive layout, column-mounted manual gearbox and front and rear bench seats. The combination of the white exterior and red/ burgundy interior gives the car the unmistakable character of a late-1960s/ early-1970s Japanese luxury saloon.

The interior remains largely original and presents very well for its age, retaining the original dashboard design, steering wheel, radio and trim.

The car is currently fitted with period-style alloy wheels, which suit it very well. Importantly, the original Toyota wheels are also present and will be included with the car.

The original mechanical fuel pump is also included with the sale, allowing the car to be returned closer to its original specification if desired.

As the photographs show, this is not a freshly over-restored car, but an honest and well-preserved example which still retains much of the character and detailing that makes these early Crowns so special.

The Crown MS55 is very rarely seen in Europe and represents an interesting alternative to the much more common European classics of the same period.

A very distinctive Japanese classic that can be enjoyed as it is while still offering scope for small cosmetic improvements if the next owner wishes.
