1965 Ford Cortina Mark 1

This is a 1500 mk1 Cortina Super which is a South African import vehicle. It is remarkably rot and rust free, the chassis and underneath is solid as are the front top suspension mounting points . Unfortunately due to the loss of my storage, regrettably I have sell the car. Since I purchased it the car has undergone extensive upgrades which are to numerous to list here, however I can email a detailed list to potential buyers.

A short list of upgrades / refurbishment as follows. New front discs and pads, refurbished brake calipers with new pistons and seals, new steering linkages, joints and track rod ends, new rubber bushes to track control arms and anti roll bar. New front wheel bearings, new stainless steel braided hoses all round, new rear brake shoes and slave cylinders. The carburetor has been replaced with a refurbished Weber 28 36 c/ w matching OEM inlet manifold. The entire exhaust system has been replaced with a new system from Burton Power, from the 4 branch manifold to the back box. All of the instruments and gauges have been replaced with electronic items as the originals we defective, the auxiliary gauges have been fitted in a OEM GT pod. the wiring has either changed or modified to suit 12 volt negative (was 12 v positive). New Ultralite alloy wheels and new tyres , including the spare have been fitted. The original damaged steering has been replaced with a new Motolita item. The interior is in excellent condition , the bodywork, while not concourse is in excellent condition (the pictures do not do it justice). With the sale comes a large amount of parts and spares which was part of my ongoing upgrades such as new brake servo front suspension conversion kit (similar to GAZ units) to allow for adjustable ride height. In addition, there are 5 alloy wheels that were originally fitted to the car. The original leaking petrol tank has been replaced with a custom built alloy tank C/ W matching sender and fuel gauge. A new mechanical fuel pump has been fitted to replace the unreiable one that was fitted. I have included a photo of the original speedo, unfortunately I cannot verify the true mileage, therefore it is sold without any warranty and is sold as seen and inspected. I have driven the car around 300 mile since the upgrade works have been carried out , and it has driven faultlessly. It should also be noted that the car is registered as an Historic Vehicle on the V5 document and as such does not require an MOT and is Road tax exempt.
